Is It Normal To Experience Pain And Discomfort?

It is important to understand and distinguish between what is a normal discomfort such as body ache, stiffness or feeling sore, and experiencing abnormal acute pain and severe discomfort. Our body is alive and constantly changing throughout our lives, and especially as we get older. If we take the time to feel all the things that are going on in our body, we quickly realize that one area may feel stiffness or tightness, while another area may feel sore or have an itch, muscle twitching, and another area may feel fine. It is important to accept that our body is in constant flux and that we will experience various feelings on an ongoing basis. Some people do not experience any type of physical discomfort, but the majority of people do experience discomfort at various points in their life.

While it's important to be in touch with our body, we should acknowledge and accept that the discomfort exists, but we should not judge, try to over analyze or worry about what is causing the discomfort. Instead try to focus on things that feel good such as your breathing, and you will soon realize that the discomfort has subsided and that an itch is now bothering you.

It is your responsibility to make self-care an important part of your lifestyle. It's important to stay active and be mindful of how you treat your body in each activity. Be mindful of your posture, how you sit, stand, and sleep. Position yourself correctly when performing any activity or exercise. Even your eating and drinking habits affect how your body reacts. Take the time to learn how to take care of your body and you'll the happy that you invested in yourself.
